Good teamwork recently paid big dividends for two local companies.
A joint project by Low Country Contracting, Inc. of Vance and T & B Vinyl Siding Co. of
Orangeburg earned national recognition in the Vinyl Siding Institute’s 2003 Awards Of Distinction
program.
Demonstrating outstanding craftsmanship and effective use of vinyl siding and accessories in
showcasing the aesthetic and performance qualities of vinyl siding, a single- family home built by Low
Country Contracting and sided by T&B won top honors in the residential new construction category of
the competition.
It was selected from more than 175 entries submitted to the VSI for one or more of the contest’s
categories: historic restoration, residential new construction, non-residential, residential residing, and
special applications.
The winning home, owned by Gene Boyd on Lake Marion in Eutawville, features a vertical siding
with a variegated coloring process the emulates wood.
Builder Randy Brown, owner of Low Country, has been in the construction business since 1988,
specializing in custom home building and remodeling.
Siding installer Ted Benton of T & B Vinyl Siding has nearly 20 years of experience.
His company provides siding installations for new construction and renovation projects.
